Hey guys, `MurkHellsing here.

I'm packing a bag, grabbing a pencil case and hitting the road for a month; starting with Auckland for Doujin Overload and ending in Christchurch for some heavy drinking. Unless its worth going all the way to the bottom of the country!
And what better way to spend it than spreading Drawfest all down the country?

So!
Drawfest Auckland - Sometime around Doujin Overload (25th July)!
Drawfest Hamilton - Sometime within a week after Doujin Overload!
Drawfest Palmerston North - Early August!
Drawfest Wellington - Sometime around August 15!
Drawfest Christchurch - Late August!

Who will be there? Who will answer the mighty call of the Drawfest?

And hey, as always, non artists are welcome to join in! Its a devMeet through and through!

No ifs!
No buts!
I'll be there, even if you aren't! So make sure you are!

Murk out!

Chilly Anyone?

So yeah...anyone a bit cold lately?

Yeah same.

Jeez, to think the last journal entry was December 9th when we were just entering summer...I miss those days already.

However just 3 weeks away from the April holidays for those of us at private schools and 4 weeks away for the rest of you! (That was meant to sound optimistic...) So get planning already...I'm going to Japan (weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!).

So in NZ and art related things...

CHCH:

Armageddon is 28th - 29th of March. I believe we have a DevArt stall there so pop on by and seem some of our classy deviants.
I'm bloody dissapointed because I'm working both days that weekend! Bah!

ChCh Art gallery has Rita Angus on till the 14th June. I have some contacts in the gallery (shifty eyes) and apparently the whole shibang is meant to be huge. So if that's your thing check it out.

Coming up in May is the Rowan 30th Anniversary collection at Ng Gallery on Barbados St. Rowan is a top British yarn company is this going to be a pretty cool show I'm helping out with. Anyone who's interested in textiles, yarn, thread craft and just clothes should come along.

WELLINGTON:

Armageddon is the 4th - 5th of April here. Deviants gonna be there too...

Te Papa has Monet on till 17th of May which would be unbelievably AWESOME!

AUCKLAND:

I don't even know what goes on in Auckland. Somebody update me would ya?

And some general stuff. India is still gonna be in the country for a while. Super 14's on (cannot believe the Crusaders right now. It's down right embarrassing (my spellings embarrassing. I don't even know is embarrassing is spelt right...).)

Yep... cool. Cold.

Great title don't you feel?

Yes, Kiwi Deviants, we are in summer holidays! So it's time to get INSPIRED! I feel most inspired indeedy. I'm been working on numerous projects already as it's what keeps me busy over the summer.

If your stuck on what to do here is Jess's Handy List of Summer Projects:

*Paint pictures. Yes painting is soothing AND enjoyable. Buy a canvas and just throw stuff at it. Also an excellent anger managment...manager.

*Redesign your room. A bit of Feng Shuew (sp?) never hurt anybody.

*Learn to knit. I knit, infact I do a tonne of work within the knitting industry in NZ (that's how cool I am). Won't go into details as to why I work lots in it, lets just say Mum is big in that industry. I'm making these awesome sock things right now and....

*Bake. Baking is brillient, as it convinces your parents that you have a skill and you get tasty delights.

*Pimp your phone/iPod. Yes, diamontes are good. Along with numerous other things.

*Pimp your clothes/shoes. Pull out markers, paints, fabrics or in my case papier mache and redesign your old clothes and shoes. My pink heels
are now very cool.

*Learn to bead. Properly. not just threading plastic beads onto string.

...hmmm so far these things seem very girly...

*Build stuff. Yes, man work! Hammers, nails and wood. Learn to whittle a bird house.

*Metal craft. Weld together anything that will...weld.

*Build epic sandcastles on the beach. Castles with moats and towers etc.

*Make Christmas cards. Paper and glue.

*Become a master of origami.

There must be something in there you must want to do if your bored. Got any projects to add. Just comment!

Also, send links to pictures of your summer projects, so everyone can check out how cool you are.

Lots of summer love,

Yeah, been wee while since someone logged on...sorry bout that.

I'm sure life's been busy for all of us. I have mock exams next week...woot!...Who else has? I feel like wallowing with other people.

I LOATHE EXAMS!

Got that out of my system.

I've read lots of the comments about how we should have another competition. If anyone has any ideas, comment this journal.

We've also received tonnes of notes about joining and yeah cool, you're in. Except I can't make it official cos thats what Yvan does. So if he gets this message, Hey, can you maybe sort this...cheers!

Lost of pre-exam love,
