Wow, so there's people attacking pilot's with knifes and claiming there's a bomb on a plane.... What's new you say? Well the fact that it's in New Zealand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blenheim, New Zealand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the terrorist (that's what I'm calling her because it was an act of terror) was a 33 year old Somalian woman, from Blenheim. She attacked two pilots, one receiving a cut to the hand and the other an injured foot. The woman also made claims that there was a bomb on the plane.

The woman is allegedly mentally ill or insane. It's an outrage they don't scan bags at rural airports. I've heard reports that it's not economical but atleast one metal detector, maybe used for the flights heading to the major cities of NZ (pretty much Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch) would be better than nothing. All we've done now is say to the world is, "Hey, if you want to come bomb us you can because our security SUCKS!!!"

It's a shame this woman was Somalian (a Muslim culture). I'm not saying the incident would have been any better if it had been a white Christian (or any other religion) person but it really puts predjudices against the Somalian community here in NZ. It's like Steve Irwin Stingray thing. He wouldn't have wanted it but now when ever we hear the word stingray we think Steve Irwin murderer. So for a while now, it will be whenever we hear Somalian we think, 'that woman who attacked that plane'!

As I said before, let's just hope she is mentally ill, I don't want to sound skeptical here but let's just hope she wasn't a test of NZ security. The test subject of the major plan.... I've always tried to ignore the thought that there could be a terrorist attack in NZ but I guess I can't now with something like this happening so close to home.

A theme will be announced each month and anyone can submit work via the note system. Up to 5 will be chosen each month. The work can be your own or someone else's. Of course permission will be sought before your work is featured in case, for some unknown reason, you don't want your work to be in the journal. Theme's might not always be regarding NZ, this is about promoting NZ artists, not the country.

This month's Theme is 'Back to School' as that's what many Kiwi's are doing right now, from 5 year olds to 20 year olds.
